His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Dubai has declared his search for a new Youth Minister. The announcement was made on Sunday, September 24, via his social media platforms.
Sheikh Mohammed is seeking a young man or woman who can effectively represent youth issues, voice their opinions, and monitor government files that are of interest to them.
The ideal candidate should be well-versed with the issues of their homeland, aware of societal realities, field-based in their work, rational in their approach, and brave and strong in representing their country. Above all, they should have a passion for serving their homeland.
The recruitment process is open to those who are competent, capable, and honest. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by emailing the Council of Ministers at contactus@moca.gov.ae.
Following the announcement, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers reported receiving over 4,700 applications within the first day.
This response is not surprising considering the high level of trust placed in the UAE’s institutions. According to the latest survey by Edelman Trust Barometer, the UAE’s institutions rank among the most trusted globally.
The governmental sector emerged as the most trustworthy institution with an 85% trust rating, followed by the business sector at 78%, NGOs at 70%, and the media at 62%.
This recruitment drive by Sheikh Mohammed underscores the UAE government’s commitment to engaging the youth in its governance and decision-making processes. It also reflects the government’s recognition of the vital role that young people play in shaping the future of the nation.
