Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall is set to enhance its food scene with the introduction of its first licensed restaurant, Mr Kim. This Korean steakhouse and gastrobar is the brainchild of the creators behind Mamsha Al Saadiyat’s popular Les Dangereux.
The mall is ready to take its gastronomic experience to another level with Mr Kim. The restaurant promises to offer an upscale dining experience, paying tribute to Korea’s finest flavors.
Mr Kim will serve a variety of Wagyu cuts, including prime Japanese A5, Australian MB9+, and USDA Prime. However, the restaurant also aims to cater to a wide range of tastes and budgets by offering non-Wagyu steaks that still promise a full-flavor experience.
The restaurant’s design is expected to be as impressive as its menu. Inspired by co-founder James Soo Yong Kim’s teenage years spent in the vibrant nightlife scene of Kangnam-gu, the space will feature a multi-mural installation created by top muralist Tommiii Lim. The installation will blend Korean and Emirati elements into a visually striking ensemble. Additional design elements like disco balls, dim lighting, and monochrome accents will lend the space a playful yet sophisticated vibe.
James Soo Yong Kim describes the ambiance of the upcoming restaurant as ‘deeply personal’, stating, “It’s a blend of my cherished memories and the future memories I want to give to all of our guests.”
While the opening date of Mr Kim at Yas Mall is yet to be announced, anticipation is already building among food enthusiasts in Abu Dhabi.
