The Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) is set to return for its seventh edition. The initiative was launched in 2017 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and motivates residents to commit to 30 minutes of exercise every day for 30 days.
The DFC has been instrumental in highlighting Dubai’s robust sports and fitness infrastructure and fostering lasting healthy habits among its residents. The previous year’s challenge saw a record-breaking participation of 2.2 million individuals. Notable flagship events such as the Dubai Ride and the Dubai Run, both held on Sheikh Zayed Road, attracted approximately 35,000 cyclists and 193,000 runners respectively.
This year Dubai Ride is scheduled for Sunday, November 12, while the Dubai Run will conclude the challenge on Sunday, November 26. Both events will provide enthusiasts with the opportunity to run, walk, or cycle past some of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks on its arterial Sheikh Zayed Road.
In the coming weeks, authorities will release more details about the calendar of events, activities, and initiatives, including information on how to register for this year’s challenge. As the city prepares for the upcoming fitness challenge, Dubai is set to transform into an open-air gym, promoting health and fitness among its residents.
The seventh edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge will officially kick off on Saturday, October 28, and will run through to Sunday, November 26. With the return of this fitness initiative, Dubai continues to reinforce its commitment to promoting a healthier lifestyle among its residents.
