The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Fuel Price Committee has officially announced the revised petrol and diesel prices for September 2023. The new rates, which will come into effect from September 1, 2023, indicate a significant increase compared to the previous month.
According to the announcement, Super 98 petrol will now cost Dh3.42 per litre, marking an increase from Dh3.14 in August. Similarly, Special 95 petrol will be priced at Dh3.31 per litre, up from Dh3.02 last month. E-Plus 91 petrol will also see a price hike, costing Dh3.23 per litre as opposed to Dh2.95 in August. Diesel prices have also been adjusted, with the new rate set at Dh3.40 per litre, compared to Dh2.95 last month.
The fuel price committee’s announcement provides a snapshot of the fluctuating fuel prices throughout the year. For instance, in January 2023, Super 98 petrol was priced at Dh2.78 per litre, Special 95 at Dh2.67, and E-Plus 91 at Dh2.59. These prices have seen a steady increase over the months, culminating in the latest rates for September.
