Dubai has recently opened a new 10km hiking trail in the city’s Mushrif National Park, offering residents and visitors an exciting opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the region. The trail from beginners to seasoned enthusiasts.
The trail was officially opened to the public on June 20th by the Dubai Municipality. It features multiple tracks, public restrooms, safety instructions, directional signage, and rest areas.
Additionally, it boasts sculptures, stairways, bridges, and slopes that provide hikers with stunning views of the park’s landscape and wildlife.
However, certain activities such as setting fire, cooking, smoking, camping, and overnight stays are not permitted. Children aged between 12 and 15 years must be accompanied by parents.
Mushrif National Park first opened in 1974, is one of Dubai’s most significant recreational spots. Spanning over 5.25 square kilometers, the park is home to more than 70,000 trees, including a 35,000 square meter Ghaf tree forest.
The park is so expansive that it can be driven through. It also features a five-kilometer walking, cycling, and jogging track, two 25-meter swimming pools, and courts for basketball, volleyball, and handball.
One of the park’s highlights is the Aventura Nature Adventure Park, nestled amidst the Ghaf tree forest. This high ropes adventure course offers a range of activities, including zip-lining and rope course challenges. With more than 85 challenges across different age and difficulty levels, it includes the longest series of tree-top zip lines in the region.
Apart from these attractions, Mushrif Park also offers children’s play areas, barbecue spots, restaurants, and canteens. It also features a train ride, an equestrian center, camel riding, and a World Village comprising 13 models of traditional houses from around the world.
This new hiking trail is another addition to Dubai’s efforts to promote outdoor activities and healthy living among its residents and visitors. With its year-round sunny weather and diverse natural landscape, the city continues to offer numerous ways for people to escape the urban hustle and enjoy the outdoors.
