Dubai’s culinary scene is set to be enriched with the addition of two new restaurants, Jamavar, and MiMi Mei Fair, both hailing from London’s upscale Mayfair neighborhood.
The establishments are expected to open their doors in Downtown Dubai in the final quarter of 2023.
The two restaurants are part of LSL Capital’s luxury restaurant collection, a venture by father-daughter hospitality entrepreneurs Samyukta Nair and Dinesh Nair.
Both establishments will be located next to each other in Downtown Dubai, adding to the city’s vibrant dining landscape.
Jamavar, an Indian fusion restaurant, first opened its doors in Mayfair in 2016 and earned its first Michelin Star within a year of operation.
The brand expanded to Doha in 2021, and Dubai is set to be its third global location.
The restaurant is known for its glamorous setting and detail-oriented design, featuring a stunning dining hall, bar, and outdoor terrace.
The menu offers a fusion of pan-Indian flavors, combining traditional techniques with local ingredients.
The dishes draw inspiration from the Royal kitchens across India’s north, coast, and southern states. Culinary director Surender Mohan will be at the helm of the kitchen.
MiMi Mei Fair, on the other hand, is a Chinese eatery that promises an elegant aesthetic paired with refined Cantonese cuisine.
The restaurant’s interior is inspired by ancient folklore tales and whimsical 1920s Shanghai, filled with trinkets, antiques, and artifacts from owner Samyukta’s personal collection.
The menu is a tribute to Empress MiMi’s travels across China, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
LSL Capital’s portfolio also includes other notable restaurants such as Bombay Bustle, Koyn, and Socca, all based in Mayfair, London.
With the upcoming openings of Jamavar and MiMi Mei Fair in Dubai, food enthusiasts in the city have much to look forward to.
