Saudi Arabia has declared Saturday, 23rd September, as a public holiday in observance of the country’s National Day. This day marks the historic decree issued by King Abdulaziz in 1932, which led to the renaming of the Kingdom of Najd and the Hejaz as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development confirmed that both private and non-profit organizations would observe the 93rd National Day as a public holiday. The ministry has also urged all employers to adhere to the regulations outlined in Article 24 regarding public holidays, ensuring a smooth celebration of this national event.
In addition to workers, students from all schools and universities will also be given a day off on Sunday, 24th September, enabling them to participate in the festivities commemorating the Kingdom’s National Day.
This year’s National Day falls on a Saturday, making it a long weekend and providing an opportunity for relaxation and celebration, especially for those who work six days a week. Even those who work a standard five-day week will have a day off to participate in the festivities, making it a time of inclusive celebration across the nation.
