His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah has approved 25 new scholarships for postgraduate studies. These scholarships will be awarded to students at the University of Sharjah (UOS) for the academic year 2023/2024.
The announcement was made by Mohammed Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA). The scholarships are intended for Sharjah citizens who have been accepted to enroll in various programs at the university. This initiative is part of the ruler’s commitment to fostering educational growth and development within the region.
The scholarships are divided into three categories: three doctoral scholarships, 21 master’s scholarships, and one higher diploma scholarship. This marks the third batch of postgraduate scholarships granted under this initiative.
This generous gesture by the Ruler of Sharjah underscores his commitment to education and his desire to provide opportunities for the youth of Sharjah to pursue advanced studies. It is expected that these scholarships will significantly aid in the academic and professional growth of the recipients, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to their communities and the broader UAE society.
The scholarships are a testament to the ruler’s vision of empowering the youth through education, thereby contributing to the overall development of the UAE. The move is also in line with the broader trend of UAE universities adopting hybrid learning models to benefit working students, further enhancing the flexibility and accessibility of higher education in the region.
